AUDIOVISUAL WORKSHOPS

The Audiovisual Workshop of Environment  on the  Easter Island is the pilot workshop of a series of audiovisual environmental workshops proposed by Ecovision, to promote awareness of young people in Chile’s environmental problems in different parts of this country.

The central idea of the series of audiovisual environmental workshops is learning through action, to motivate participants, young students in schools or youth organizations, to develop a constructive reflection of the environmental problems that affect the whole community, analyze their origins and possible solutions during the process of making an audiovisual product. We are interested in selecting topics.

Besides the young, a teacher in charge of the school or organization can participate in the Audiovisual Environment Workshop to acquire the methodology of the workshop and act as a multiplier in the future, making future workshops with other youth in the community.

ECOVISION BLOG will provide a communication platform for children and teachers from different schools and organizations that are involved in our Environmental Audiovisual workshops. For example, children can chat with each other and have the opportunity to see the work in the workshops that take place in other regions or localities in Chile. The school teachers will have access to films and educational materials on environmental issues covered in the workshops to continue teaching in school.

The Environmental Audiovisual  Workshop on the Easter Island, works in addition to the efforts to achieve “an environmental education on the local community, who are already being promoted by the Municipality of Isla de Pascua”.

Environmental problems that confronted the people of Easter Island are unique to the island and also very similar to those in other regions of Chile and the world. To try to solve these problems and find a way to live sustainably on our planet, it is important that all members of society take our responsibility in an active and participatory way.

After the workshop, the three audiovisual works (5 min. duration) made by participants, it will be screened in a public place of the Easter Island, to be shared with the rest of the community. The same group of teaching professionals will conduct a visual documentation of the 1st min. environmental audivisual Workshop, to be delivered to the Municipality of the Easter Island, for public use in television, schools, businesses or institutions interested in the subject of Environment.
The documentation and audiovisual works made by the environmental audiovisual workshop participants on the Easter Island, plus the future workshops wich will be held in different parts of Chile, will be posted on the blog Ecovision, aimed at promoting in the network the contents of our Environmental Audiovisual workshops.
